Bull-headed shrike landing on a branch of tree
@Most of birds landing on a branch of tree or a ledge of cliff set up their tail, increase the angle of attack of their wings and stall at a little downside in front of the landing branch or ledge. Then, they make landing by the inertia as if the thrown ball stops at the maximum height (corresponding to the branch or the ledge) by changing the kinetic energy to the potential energy. (Prod. Apr. 2000, full-scale, No.1)
