Spotbill duck in parachuting fall before landing
@The duck opens the wing, the tail and the webbed feet to their full width, and the whole body makes concave to the forward in order to produce the increased momentum of the pushed air with as possible as slow velocity and to get the drag against the gravity as its reaction. The hanging down of the head and the feet makes lower the center of gravity and promotes the stability. Such a pose is also effective to watching the landing point. This may be the root of the paraglider. (Prod. Aug. 2003, scale 1/2, No.2)
